Veterans Village holding clothing drive to help homeless vets

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Veterans Village of San Diego is holding a daylong
clothing drive Friday ahead of next month's annual Stand Down event, which
connects homeless veterans with services.

Organizers of the drive will accept donations of new or gently used
clothing from 6 a.m. through 3 p.m. at the veterans shelter at 4141 Pacific
Highway.

They also said they really need wash-cloths, and could use new men's and
women's underwear, toiletries — including hand sanitizer — and shoes and
socks.

Organizers say they expect to serve around 1,000 homeless veterans
during the three-day Stand Down, which is scheduled for July 12-14 at San Diego
High School.

Monetary donations can be made online at vvsd.net.
