Veterans Village of San Diego aims to help homeless veterans

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – San Diego has the fourth largest homeless population in the country, and many of them are veterans who ended up on the streets after serving our country.

Veterans Village of San Diego serves America’s veterans in overcoming homelessness and related challenges.

In the case of Former Marine Infantryman Rish Patel, he ended up homeless after serving in Iraq because of his PTSD and subsequent alcohol abuse. After receiving help from Veterans Village, he is back on his feet and has his own place.

Patel is just one of many who have been helped by Veterans Village, an organization that aims to take care of our veterans.
