Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians VFW Post 7637

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Even though Viejas VFW Post 7637 is currently inactive, it is a symbol of self-determination for the the members of the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians and the other bands of the Kumeyaay Nation.

The post is important to all Native Americans because it was the first all-Native American Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) post in California and only the second all-Native American post in the U.S.

Adrian M. Brown, Councilmember of the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians, was in studio to discuss the post’s significance.
