Vincent Memorial 31, Army-Navy 14
The Vincent Memorial Scots came out on top this Friday against the Army and Navy Warriors. This victory puts Vincent Memorial only one game behind the Warriors in the series. Coming up big for the Scots offensively was Emiliano Garcia and Robert Valadez, they each assisted in scoring for the Scots. Garcia and Valadez had help on the offensive line; Frank Martinez created gaps which helped create long runs for his teammates. The Scots scored a total of 31 points for the night to Army and Navy’s 14, putting them 2-0 for the season.
The Army and Navy Warriors started the game a little slow as they were shook up by the injury of a teammate who was taken to the hospital via ambulance in the middle of the second quarter. However, after a short intermission the Warriors rallied back for their fallen soldier. Even though Army and Navy came up short this week they showed plenty of improvements. They went back to the basics as expected by coach Fanene and scored more points and even improved on tackling a tracking. The Warriors will be on the road next week as they face Horizon Christian Academy in hopes of getting their first win of the season.
