Vista girl pays off other students’ negative lunch accounts

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A 5-year-old girl from Vista created a hot chocolate stand to raise money to help other students at Breeze Hill Elementary pay off negative lunch accounts.

It’s called Kiki’s Kindness Project which was started by kindergartner Katelynn Hardee and her mother Karina.

Hardee held her first fundraiser last Sunday and will have the Hot Cocoa Stand up once again on Saturday, December 21st from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Breeze Hill Elementary.

On Kiki’s Kindness Project’s Facebook page it says she wants to make sure that other students “can have a snack and lunch, if they don’t, their tummies grumble.”

So far the project has raised more than $1,000 and reached their first goal of paying off Breeze Hill Negative Lunch Accounts which was $635. Now they hope to pay off all VUSD Negative Lunch Accounts which equals $7,000.

If you can’t make it to the hot chocolate stand Saturday but would still like to donate click here.
