Volunteers of America, Southwest working to help vulnerable veterans
Volunteers of America Southwest provides behavioral health, veterans, and youth services to over 8,000 children, adults, and families annually in San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Imperial Counties.
Volunteers of America a national nonprofit, faith-based religious service organization was founded in 1896 as a church by social reformers, Ballington and Maud Booth. The national structure consists of a network of local affiliated independent corporations. Each of the local affiliate corporations provides a variety of social services that strengthen communities and assist less fortunate individuals and families.
Volunteers of America, Southwest Corporation is one of thirty-two (32) affiliate corporations of Volunteers of America, Inc. Southwest Corporation was incorporated as a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 religious service organization in the state of California in October 1984. In 2013 Southwest was authorized to conduct business in the state of Arizona as a foreign corporation. Today, the territory service area includes the following five California counties: San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, Imperial, and Orange, as well as the state of Arizona.
