Water main break causes flooding in Jamacha area

JAMACHA (KUSI) – The Jamacha area outside El Cajon experienced a water main break which flooded several nearby homes and prompted the closure of an area roadway.   

The break near the intersection of Hillsdale Road and Hillsdale Lane was reported at 8:30 a.m., according to Cal Fire. A massive waterspout could be seen shooting from the rupture.   

Residents of two or three homes in the vicinity of the break reported flooding before crews shut off the water, Cal Fire Capt. Kendal Bortisser said.   

Hillsdale Road was closed from Jamacha Road to Chase Avenue, according to the county Department of Public Works.
