Water main break leaves sinkhole in Mission Hills roadway

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Monday morning got off to a wet start in Mission Hills when a water main break left a roughly 4-by-5-foot sinkhole in an area roadway.

The rupture in the 1700 block of Fort Stockton Drive near Sunset Boulevard was reported shortly after 5 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer Frank Cali.

The water to the pipe has since been shut off. It was not immediately clear whether anyone residing in the area has lost water service.
