Water main break near airport creates giant sinkhole, headache
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A water main break near Lindbergh Field that left
behind a giant sinkhole created traffic headaches for Thanksgiving Day
travelers Wednesday.
The break on North Harbor Drive occurred about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday but
emergency repairs continued into this morning, according to San Diego police
Officer Dan Lasher.
As of 5 a.m., all but one northbound lane of the 4700 block of North
Harbor Drive was closed, he said, adding that officials were working to open
more lanes “soon.”
