Week 1: Carlsbad Lancers 42, Hart Indians 14
In this weeks North County Showdown There was a blowout in Carlsbad. Leading the way was Mazlo Norwood as he rushed for over 200 yards and found the Endzone 3 times in Fridays game against the Hart Indians. Sr. Wide receiver and Defensive back Cole Wright ended his night with multiple catches , a pass deflection and a handful of tackles. Early in the 1st quarter Dylan Quinn got everyone off they’re feet and cheering when he returned an Interception 28 yards for the score , which would put Carlsbad infront 14-0.
As for Hart , it was a slow start to the game until Sr. Blake Gill forced a fumble which would set the Indians up to score making it 14-7.
Soon after , Carlsbad would go up 21-7 when stunningly, Carlsbad Lancer Sr. Steven Wynn went down with a gruesome leg injury that would later be diagnosed as a dislocated knee. Mid 4th quarter Hart QB Zach Johnson would dart a 33 yard Touchdown pass to Drew Munoz.
Finally , The Hart Indians would fall to the Carlsbad Lancers 42-14 behind Norwoods Massive rush attack.

PREVIEW: It’s prep football opening night in Carlsbad, as the Hart Indians take on the Carlsbad Lancers.
The week one matchup is a must-see as both teams come out fighting to start the 2019 season off with a Win.
Coming off of a 6-4 campaign in 2018 in which they finished third in the division, the Carlsbad Lancers have a great upside coming into this season currently ranked No. 51 in California with a top player in senior Cole Wright, who looks to start his senior year off hot.
As for Hart, coming off of a very similar campaign at 6-5 in 2018 and finishing tied for second in their division, the Indians start this season ranked No. 100 in the state of California and also have a total 17 returning starters in the lineup, which means chemistry will by far be a strong suit for the Hart Indians.
Finally, be sure to mark your calendars for this Friday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. as the Hart Indians face off against the Carlsbad Lancers at Carlsbad High School.
