Week 1 Pigskin Idol Game of the Week: San Diego Cavers 40, Crawford Colts 0

And just like that Week 1 came and went. The San Diego Cavers shut out the Crawford Colts, 40-0.

In the first quarter, San Diego’s Mo Jackson wasted no time. Jackson came in fast with the 4-yard touchdown run, putting the Cavers on the board, with the PAT being blocked, made it 6-0 Cavers.

Still in the first quarter, Crawford’s Malachi Batie intercepted the ball in the endzone, as high hopes were surrounding their possession, but they were eventually stopped by the Cavers.

Later in the first quarter, Jackson struck again with the 1-yard touchdown run, as the Cavers then went onto complete a successful 2-point conversion. The Cavers maintained their lead at 14-0.

In the third quarter, the Cavers’ Michael Savage puts San Diego on the board again with a 7-yard touchdown run, making it 21-0 Cavers.

San Diego’s Dajon Meshack made sure to make his presence known as he found Shai’Rohn Ramsey with the 35-yard touchdown pass, as this duo gave the Cavers the 28-0 lead.

In the end, the Cavers would go on to take the win, 40-0.

The Crawford Colts put up a good effort, the Cavers’ speed is definitely a hard thing to stop.

The San Diego Cavers lived up to their state title champs name. After the Cavers’ successful 2018 run, who knows where 2019 will take them?

As the wait finally ends, it is only the beginning for the Crawford Colts and the San Diego Cavers as they face off this Friday night on the Cavers’ home turf at 6:30 p.m. in this week’s Pigskin Idol Game of the Week brought to you by King Aminpour.

The Cavers are coming off a high from last year, as they earned bragging rights after securing the Division 5-A state title championship game. The Cavers should be proud of their 2018 season.

Under new direction now, who knows where Coach Marquez will take the Colts this season.

Junior quarterback Kevin Luong ended 2018 with an impressive 1,001 total passing yards.
