Week 10 Pigskin Idol Game of the Week: Rancho Bernardo Broncos 36, Vista Panthers 31

There was no lightning striking from the sky that was going to stop us this week as the Prep Pigskin Report was back to full speed.

The game of the night was by far the Pigskin Idol featured game between the Vista Panthers and the Rancho Bernardo Broncos.

Entering halftime, the score was 21-3, Rancho Bernardo. However, Vista came out firing in the second half with 28 unanswered points.

The Rancho Bernardo Broncos were then down 31-21 but put themselves in a position to win the game on a hail mary.

Angelo Ducksworth came up with the phenomenal catch to lead the Broncos to a 36-31 victory and improving their record to 7-2.

Next week, the Broncos will finish their regular season at Poway High School where they will take on the Titans who are currently 7-2 and undefeated at home.

The Panthers from Vista will finish their regular season play with a very tough home matchup against the Carlsbad Lancers who defeated the La Costa Canyon Mavericks on Friday night, 24-7.

The Prep Pigskin Report will be back next week to assist San Diego in finishing off the 2018 regular season.

PREVIEW: The forecast for Week 10 of the Prep Pigskin Report calls for clear skies, so hopefully that is what we get as the Vista Panthers (6-2) travel to Rancho Bernardo High School to take on the Broncos (6-2) in the Chicken Charlie’s Pigskin Idol Game of the Week.

In the Palomar league, the Broncos are undefeated, and the Panthers have lost just once to the Poway Titans, 35-21.

Vista is coming off of a win over the Westview Wolverines, which was actually delayed Friday night due to weather when the score was 6-0 in the second quarter. The game resumed play on Saturday with the Panthers winning, 41-21.

On the other side, The Broncos beat the Mt. Carmel Sundevils, 45-7.

Before the game this Friday, the senior players from Rancho Bernardo will be honored as this will be their last regular season game at home. However, this team could see another home game in the playoffs with their impressive play thus far in 2018.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m. on Friday night and the highlights start at 11 p.m. on the Prep Pigskin Report. Tune in to the PrePR at 5 and 6 p.m. for more coverage of the Prep Pigskin Report and follow our social media accounts @KUSIPPR and @redjacketarmy.
