Week 10: Montgomery Aztecs 56, Southwest Raiders 0
The Montgomery Aztecs cruised to a 56-0 win over the visiting Southwest Raiders on Friday night.
Things got out of hand early in this one.
Quarterback Alexander Dixie got the party started with a 28-yard touchdown run to put the Aztecs up, 7-0.
Later in the first quarter, Dixie found Zach Pearson on a 42-yard hookup to the Raider 10-yard line. Dixie then found Isiah King from 10 yards out to put Montgomery up, 14-0.
Still in the first, Keoa Gumataotao reached the end zone on a 15-yard run to put the Aztecs up, 21-0.
And before the quarter was out, Jaheem Williams decided to join in. He took a Raider punt 50 yards the other way to close the first quarter with the Aztecs on top, 28-0.
In the second quarter, Gumataotao showed off his arm strength. He connected with King on a 49-yard bomb and the Aztecs lead increased to 35-0.
Still in the second, Williams added an exclamation point with a 50-yard touchdown run. He ran practically untouched the entire way. The clock ran the rest of the game.
Montgomery will play its final game of the regular season, hosting Castle Park next week. Southwest plays its regular-season finale at home against San Ysidro.
