Week 11: Otay Ranch Mustangs 20, Olympian Eagles 10
This Friday marked Battle of The O’s, a long time rivalry game between Olympic and Otay.
The Mustangs have been victorious in keeping the trophy home for the past two years.
Otay Ranch also celebrated Senior Night for the class of 2020, as they were joined with family and friends to celebrate their last league game in the season.
Early in the first quarter, Mustangs Paul Richardson took it in 38 yards for a touchdown run, giving Otay an early lead. 7-0 Otay Ranch
Olympians defense responded by stripping Mustangs, Carl Addy. This allowed Eagles, Nevin Backlog to recover the ball and return it 55 yards.
Eagles, Luke Hamilton will then find Anthony Gilpen Jr. for a three yard touchdown pass, tying the game. 7-7
Still in the second quarter, Otays Paco Puentes handoff to Carl Addy for a 3 yard Touchdown run, Putting the Mustangs back in the lead. 14-7 Otay Ranch
In the third quarter, Otay Ranch’s Paco Puentes threw to Paul Richardson. Richardson, broke through two defenders allowing him to take it all the way to the endzone for a 66 yard touchdown. 20-7 Otay Ranch
The Mustangs will once again win battle of the O’s, allowing them to keep the trophy at home. This crucial win has also put the Mustangs into playoffs.
