Week 11 Pigskin Idol Game: La Jolla Vikings 20, Christian Patriots 19

Our Week 11 Pigskin Idol Game of the Week will go down as one to remember. The La Jolla Vikings edged out the Christian Patriots in the final seconds, 20-19.

After a slow first half, things got kicked up a notch in the third quarter.

There’s no catching La Jolla’s Max Smith as he rushed 47 yards down the field for the touchdown, putting six points up on the board against Christian’s 7.

The Patriots’ Christian Salacup responded with a 2-yard touchdown run, making it 13-6, Christian.

Then in the fourth, La Jolla’s Jackson Stratton found Diego Solis with a 34-yard touchdown pass, as the Vikings tied the game up at 13-all.

Christian now had the ball, and Nate Stine found a hole and took it in 2 yards for the touchdown. The Patriots missed a crucial PAT, making it 19-13, Christian.

Now with only :06 left in the game, La Jolla’s Stratton made a huge play with Solis. Stratton found him 17 yards down the field for the game-tying touchdown pass, making it 19-all.

Then, Devin Bale came in with the game-winning kick.

La Jolla took the win in the last seconds. The final was 20-19.
