Week 11: The Bishop’s School 49, Santa Fe Christian 0
The undefeated Bishop’s Knights came out fierce and very fast, defeating Santa Fe Christian, 49-0, on Friday evening at Junipero Serra High School.
The opening drive was dominated by Bishop’s quarterback Tyler Buchner, who is committed to the University of Notre Dame. The junior quarterback had a great lead block to allow for an 80-yard touchdown.
After Buchner’s touchdown, Bishop’s was a dominant force on defense with Austin Schroeder causing a huge sack for a loss of six yards forcing Santa Fe Christian to punt the ball away.
The Bishop’s Knights struggled to convert on several drives in the first quarter due to penalties, including two intentional grounding calls on Buchner.
The second quarter was all Bishop’s again with big receptions from Clarence Freeman, Clay Petry, and Austin Schroeder.
Near the end of the second, there was an amazing reception from Petry, catching the ball on the 2-yard line and keeping both feet inbounds.
After the catch and a stop from the Santa Fe Christian Eagles, Buchner pushed the ball in the end zone on third down.
The remainder of the game was dominated by the Bishop’s Knights, putting up 49 points on the Eagles as Santa Fe Christian could not score.
The Knights moved to 10-0 on the season and move into the postseason. Santa Fe Christian now sits at 6-4.
