Week 11: Scripps Ranch Falcons 38, Mission Bay Buccaneers 6
The Scripps Ranch Falcons romped the Mission Bay Buccaneers 38-6 and now take an undefeated record into the postseason.
The Buccaneers finished the season 4-6.
Things started out slow on each team’s first drive, then the Falcons got it going.
Luke Durkin found the end zone first. He kept the ball and broke contain from seven yards out to put Scripps Ranch up, 7-0.
The next score of the game came in the second quarter.
This time, Ethan Nicholas took the handoff, running it in from 23 yards out to put the Falcons up, 17-0.
The Buccaneers found some life on the ensuing kickoff.
Evan Aguon denied the shutout by returning the kick 91 yards. A missed extra point and Mission Bay was within 11.
From there it was all Scripps Ranch.
Nicholas Gardinera would find the end zone before halftime on a 14-yard scamper putting the Falcons up, 24-6.
In the third quarter, Durkin did it again. This time he kept it from two yards out putting Scripps Ranch up, 31-6.
Then in the fourth, it was a little bit of deja vu times two.
Gardinera got his second of the night on the ground, matching his quarterback. He scored from 11 yards out, putting the fork in it.
The Falcons now head to the playoffs, the opponent to be decided.
