Week 12 City Game of the Week: Patrick Henry Patriots 35, Del Norte Nighthawks 28
Week 12 is over and the first round of playoffs are over.
At the start of the game on Friday night, the Patrick Henry Patriots took it to the house in their second possession.
Quarterback Matthew Castillo gave the ball to Martin Campos for a 60-yard touchdown. That made the score 7-0 Patriots.
Then Del Norte answered with a 22-yard touchdown with a handoff from quarterback Jack Borer to Daniel Latanca. That tied things up to 7-all.
Del Norte wasn’t done yet they scored again with a 17-yard touchdown run by Daniel Latanca. That put the Del Norte Nighthawks in the lead with a score of 14-7.
Entering the second quarter, John Zinno had an interception for the Patrick Henry Patriots. The Del Norte defense shut them down, however, keeping the score 14-7, Del Norte.
After the half, Elijah Lux scored again making the score 14-all.
The Patrick Henry Patriots then scored again making the score 21-14. Kai Jessie was the one who caught the ball for a 12-yard touchdown.
Then the Patriots did it again. They scored thanks to Jesse, as he ran it for 23 yards. The score was now 27-14, Patriots in the lead.
The Del Norte Nighthawks didn’t go down without a fight. They scored another touchdown, as quarterback Jack Borer ran it in for one yard. This puts the Nighthawks up 28-27.
With only two seconds remaining Kai Jesse scores with a 17-yard touchdown. That made the score 35-28, Patrick Henry Patriots. It was Jesse’s third touchdown.
