Preview: This week the Alarm Clock Pep Rally game takes place at Point Loma High School as the Pointers host the Lincoln Hornets in a Division II quarterfinal matchup.
The Lincoln Hornets (7-4) and the number 5 seed are coming off of back-to-back wins against Madison and then last week against Westview in the first round of playoffs. The Hornets, under head coach David Dunn, have looked strong all season but are coming on especially strong when it really counts. Some players to look out for are lead back Carlito Nothaft, as well as Jamahd Monroe and Don Chapman both seniors, and junior Keyshawn Smith.
The home Point Loma Pointers (5-5) and the number 4 seed are coming into this week on a week of rest and preparation for this game. Prior to that, they had a tough loss to Cathedral Catholic so they will be looking to get back to their winning ways this week in the quarterfinals. Under head coach Mike Hastings, some of the Pointers to look out for Friday night include JL Skinner on both sides of the ball, LB and RB Christian Terzoli, Jason Peres and Trey Cobb at QB, and Kaden Gill at RB.
This one will be a battle until the very end with the 4 v. 5 seed matchup. The winner of this game will head to the Semifinals next week 11/16 against the winner of the Ramona v. Granite Hills game.
