Week 14 North County Game of the Week: El Camino Wildcats 35, Vista Panthers 21

The El Camino Wildcats and the Vista Panthers met on the field out at Dick Haines Stadium for the Division two semi-finals. This is the first time in 8 years that the Vista Panthers made it to the semi-finals, looking to making it to the Division two championship, but after El Camino beat Vista 35-21, the Vista Panthers will have to wait another year at the Division 2 championship game.

It looked like it was going Vista’s way after David Flores ran in a touchdown from 19 yards out and they were the first to get on the board, but not for long. El Camino responds right back when Isaac Tinoisamoa runs the ball in to tie the game at 7.

Vista takes the lead back in the second quarter when 2019 PPR Offensive Player of the Year nominee David Flores goes 17 yards to get the 14-7 lead. The Panthers leads quickly slipped away after Wildcat’s quarterback Joey Armentrout connects with Noah Sega in the flat, he gets the touchdown and just like that the game is all tied up again. On the ensuing Vista drive, Noah Sega steps in front of the pass for the pick 6 and El Camino takes their first lead on the game 21-14.

In the third quarter, Vista making the comeback when David Flores works his magic and gets the touchdown. Not only does that touchdown tie the game at 21, but Mr. Flores gets the hat trick to top it off.

Later, El Camino takes over when Mr. Noah Sega goes 76 yards for the score and the lead. To top it off, Kiah Reid finds Noah Sega for the 36-yard touchdown pass and the El Camino Wildcats com out on top and are headed to the Division two championship game against The Bishop’s School.
