Week 14: Scripps Ranch Falcons 49, Central Spartans 24

All season long, the pride of the Scripps Ranch Falcons has been their defense, headlined by star defensive back Rashad Griffin Jr, yet in today’s game it was the offense that shined through. Nick Gardinera rushed for four touchdowns while Grant Norberg caught a touchdown pass and Mekhi Shaw added two receiving touchdowns to the grand total.

Central showed up late, scoring twenty-one in the second half after heading into the locker room at the half down 28-3, but two full halves of football were needed to beat the Falcons in this game, as Scripps Ranch dominated every area of the contest.

The high point for Central? Star quarterback Dinero “Money” Ozuna slung the ball well in his final game at the helm for the Spartans, and had they kept the game in his surefire hands more than they did, they may have had a better chance.

As the Spartans’ season ends, the Falcons have a chance to take it all as they travel to Southwestern College to take on the La Jolla Vikings in the Division 3 championship, a team that played the Falcons closer than any other team on their schedule this season.

Look for the Falcons’ to keep the ball in the hands of Nick Gardinera and make La Jolla work to earn their points against a Viking offense that could only amass seven points against Scripps Ranch in their first meeting.
