Week 14: The Bishop’s School Knights 44, Santa Fe Christian Eagles 7
The Division II Semifinals featured a faceoff between the No. 4-seeded Santa Fe Christian Eagles (7-4) and the No. 1-seeded Bishop’s School Knights (11-0). The Knights dominated, coming out with the 44-7 win over the Eagles.
Bishops’ quarterback, Tyler Buchner, took command of the night.
In the first, Buchner found Clarence Freeman 17 yards down the field for the touchdown, giving the Knights the first score of the night, 6-0, Bishop’s.
Still in the first, Buchner connects with Chase Ladrido for a 32 yard touchdown pass, upping the Bishop’s lead to 12-0.
In the second quarter, Santa Fe’s Thomas Greupner airs it out 20 yards to Jack Hartung for the touchdown, gives Santa Fe their first score of the night 18-7, Bishop’s.
Again in the second, Bishop’s Amaan Banks comes in with the swift 4 yard touchdown run, maintaining Bishop’s lead at 24-7.
In the third quarter, Bishop’s Buchner does it again! He sends it 42 yards to Clarence Freeman for the touchdown! 37-7, Bishop’s.
Buchner shined throughout the night as he connected with his reliable targets like Clarence Freeman and Chase Ladrido. The Knights are a force to be reckoned with not only offensively, but defensively Charlie Mossy and Austin Schroeder were able to hold the fort down.
The Knights capped the night off with a final score of 44-7.
The Bishop’s School will be competing in the Division II Championship game against El Camino, November 29th.
