Week 2 City Game of the Week: Morse Tigers 68, Patrick Henry Patriots 32
What a game played by both schools, but at the end of the night, the Morse Tigers were able to walk away with the win, 68-32, over the Patrick Henry Patriots.
The night started off with a big play by Jaycob Hicks, a pick-six that helped the Tigers to get on the board first.
Then the Morse defense struck again when they created another crucial pick by Elijiah Greene, who returned it to the Henry 5-yard line.
Then the Tiger offense came to life when Daniel Thornton ran in a touchdown.
The Jersey Mike’s Player of the Week Micheal Cunningham had a total of five touchdowns in the game. He was a key player that contributed in all three phases of the game, helping Morse score the massive 68 points.
Even though the Patrick Henry Patriots fell short of a win, they had some very good plays, as well.
For example, quarterback Matthew Castillo threw a beautiful 41-yard pass to Omat Hammond for a Patriot touchdown.
Patrick Henry also had a 3-yard touchdown pass from Castillo to Cameron Stoklosa.
Castillo was back at it again with Hammond for another big touchdown, which went for 11 yards. Castillo did it again when he threw to Kadeem Bakare for a 39-yard touchdown.
Even though the Patrick Henry Patriots put up a good fight, it was just not enough to take down the 2018 Division 3 CIF champs.
Tune in next week to see just how much both of these teams can improve.
