Still in the first quarter, Francis Parker has the ball and Santa Fe’s Winters wants the ball back. After snagging a notable Pick 6, he puts the Eagles up at 14-0.

Francis Parker responds with Gervy Alota finding Chris Williams for an impressive 68 yard touchdown pass, putting the Lancers up on the board at 14-7.

Francis Parker’s Russel Childs 1 yard touchdown run helped the Lancers stay alive at 28-13 in the fourth quarter.

In the end, Francis Parker couldn’t catch up, Santa Fe’s Kian Hogan sealed the deal with a 45 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, leaving the final score at 35-13.

Francis Parker didn’t go down without a fight. Behind every exciting matchup are two teams who won’t give up.

The Pigskin Idol Game of the Week takes us to a matchup between the host Francis Parker Lancers (0-1) and the Santa Fe Christian Eagles (1-0) in Week 2. These teams will face off at 7 p.m. this Friday night.

The Eagles are fresh off a win while coming out on top against the Christian Patriots last Friday night, 28-20.

Eagles’ running back Stephen Britton had a notable game last week as he racked up 130 rushing yards and one touchdown. You can bet Britton will look to make something happen this week.

The Lancers may have fallen short last week against El Cajon Valley, 13-7, but their efforts should not go unnoticed.

Lancer’s quarterback Gervy Alota managed to connect with Trevor Brokowski a handful of times last week while ending the night with a total of 70 passing yards.

May we mention that Alota is only a sophomore? Alota potential there, get it? No? Ok.

Week two should be exciting with both teams eager to make their mark.

Be sure to tune into KUSI’s Prep Pigskin Report this Friday night at 11 p.m. for highlights and all things high school football.
