Week 2: The Bishop’s School Knights 58, University City Centurions 12

It was another victory for The Bishop’s School Knights, who dominated Friday night’s contest against the University City Centurions, 54-12.

The Knights took charge right out of the gate when Tyler Buchner ran for a 35 yards, leading to the first touchdown of the game when Buchner ran two yards in for the quarterback keeper. The first of many touchdowns in the first quarter.

Buchner’s arm was sharp with a nice 26-yard touchdown pass to Clay Petry, which was followed by a 45-yard bomb to Clarence Freeman, giving the knights a 24-0 lead.

Just before the end of the first quarter, Buchner found Griffin Dooly in the endzone for 35 yards.

Starting the second quarter as they did the first, = Freeman scored his second touchdown of the night for Bishop’s.

Hoping to turn their luck around, University City got a pick, drove down the field, and were looking to score their first touchdown.

Not long after, Bishop’s Chase Ladrido intercepted Gunnar Gray and ran the ball back 54 yards bringing the score 45-0 in the first half.

University City (0-2) was able to find the endzone twice in the fourth quarter to get on the board.

The Centurions will be headed to Mission Bay next week in hopes of getting their first win of the season, and the Bishop’s Knights (2-0) will be hosting Mater Dei as they keep the momentum in staying undefeated this season.

Tune in next to the Prep Pigskin Report to see the highlights from both of these games.

The University City Centurions (0-1) host The Bishop’s School Knights (1-0) for Week 2 of the Prep Pigskin Report.

The Centurions are coming off a tough loss last week against Valhalla, 35-21.

UC put up a strong fight against Valhalla with a score of 28-20 in the third quarter.

Before the quarter ended, Valhalla extended their lead with another touchdown.

When these two teams met last year at the start of the season, it was a victory for Valhalla by more than 25 points.

Being able to hold them to a two-touchdown lead shows that the Centurions are just warming up and are ready to show the DIII teams what they are bringing this season.

Coming off a big win against their neighbors in La Jolla, the Knights knew what they had to do in order to take home a win in last week’s season opener.

Junior quarterback, Tyler Buchner threw for over 200 yards as well ran for 77, which included scoring a touchdown.

Who’s on the other side of the ball catching for all of these yards?

None other than senior wideout Clarence Freeman, who also scored the other Bishop’s touchdown.
