Week 4 Pigskin Idol Game of the Week: Crawford Colts 30, San Ysidro Cougars 6

Week 4’s Pigskin Idol Game of the Week ended up being a good one for the Crawford Colts, as they took the win over the San Ysidro Cougars, 30-6.

In the first quarter, Crawford’s quarterback, Kevin Luong, rushed 19 yards for the first touchdown of the night, making it 6-0.

In the end of the second quarter, Crawford’s Abdi Ali made sure to close out the quarter with a bang. Ali made an impressive interception and took it back 88 yards for the touchdown. Ali sped down the field and there was no turning back. Ali increased the Colts lead to 16-0.

In the third quarter, Ali makes another appearance with his 3-yard touchdown run, boosting the Colts’ lead to 23-0.

San Ysidro was able to get on the board with one score but it wasn’t enough.

Both defenses did not disappoint, as both teams made impressive interceptions, recovered fumbles, and were overall strong. Both teams wanted this win tonight.

The Colts took the win on their home turf tonight with the final score, 30-6.

The Colts even out their record, 2-2, and The Cougars drop to 0-4. Let’s see where Week 5 takes these two teams.

PREVIEW

Week 4’s Pigskin Idol Game of the Week takes us to Crawford High, where the Crawford Colts (1-2) will host the San Ysidro Cougars (0-3).

The Colts’ defense is something to be on the lookout for. Overall, their defense has accumulated four interceptions.

Malachi Batie is responsible for one of those interceptions and is skilled on both sides of the ball. This two-way player has also scored a touchdown this season. In a Week 2 win against Marantha Christian, he snagged a 35-yard touchdown pass.

Batie will be looking to make something happen but the question is, will it be offensively or defensively? Maybe both?

The Cougars are also well-versed defensively. It is only Week 4 and the Cougars have racked up 12 sacks. Sophomore Makai Jackson is leading in sacks with a total of three.

It’s only natural to think there might be pressure in the pocket this Friday night with numbers like that.

It will be interesting to see how these two different defenses hold each other throughout the night.
