Southwest (SD) is going through a growth period. It is under new leadership, as Domonic Cruz is the team’s new head coach. The majority of the team is made up of juniors and the players are developing into their individual leadership roles.

Friday’s game will be the second time both teams face each other. Last season, the Eagles took the win, 42-14, and have a 2-1 record coming into the game. The Pirates have a 1-1 record.
