Week 5 Alarm Clock Pep Rally Game of the Week: Granite Hills Eagles 40, Hilltop Lancers 6
It was homecoming Friday night at Granite Hills as the Eagles faced the Hilltop Lancers, 40-6.
During halftime it was Jaylene Lopez and Gideon Alaba who walked away with the King and Queen titles.
As for the game, Hilltop’s Ben Reichard intercepted Granite Hills Quarterback Cris Ostreng, but on the very next play it was Juni Harris-Williams with an interception of his own and he took it back 51 yards for the touchdown and the early 7-0 Eagles lead.
A few minutes later, Ostreng completed a pass to Jacob Setterberg, who ran it in for the score and the 14-0 Granite Hills lead.
The Eagles don’t look back from here, as they remain undefeated at 4-0 and face Southwest (El Centro) next week.
The Lancers are now 1-4 and will head back down south to face Bonita Vista.
The Week 5 Alarm Clock Pep Rally Game of the Week takes us to Granite Hills High School where the Eagles will face off against the Hilltop Lancers.
The Eagles are coached by Kellan Cobbs, and are so far undefeated at 3-0. They have had victories against Poway, Mt. Carmel, and Westview with their win against Westview being in double overtime. Last week one of the standout players for Granite Hills was Ethan Bishop who made an interception and completed the 53-yard Pick 6.
On the other side of the ball, the Hilltop Lancers are looking to pick up their second win of the season under head coach Drew Westling. Their defense will have to be on their toes against a strong offensive team like the Eagles. Offensively, they are led by QB Joey Castillo and will look to make good plays that will get them on the board early.
Both teams could use a victory right before the start of league play.
The game will start at 7 p.m. with the full highlights on the Prep Pigskin Report at 11 p.m.
