Week 6 North County Game of the Week: Eastlake Titans 46, El Camino Wildcats 31

For the first time this season, the Prep Pigskin Report North County Game of the Week takes us to El Camino High School, where the El Camino Wildcats (1-3, 0-2) will host the 5th-ranked Eastlake Titans (4-1) in a non-conference match-up on Friday night.

This will be the 5th meeting between these two football programs with the Titans holding a 3-1 advantage.

El Camino has had a rough go to start the season, their three losses this season are all to the top three teams in the PPR Top 9.

Senior quarterback and captain Brock Manber runs the offense, while senior captain Etimani Tuilefano anchors their offensive line. Defensively, the Wildcats have had their hands full with the likes of No. 1 La Costa Canyon, No. 2 Torrey Pines and No. 3 Eastlake.

Eastlake will make the 60-mile drive and will step off the bus with arguably the best defense in the San Diego Section that has given up just six points per game that includes back to back shutouts against Grossmont and Valhalla.

Linebacker Josh McCurty is a tackling machine averaging 14 tackles per game.

Offensively, the Titans focus on the run and have a stable of running backs highlighted by senior running back Parker Merrifield. But they can also throw the ball, as sophomore QB Richard Colmenero III has nine touchdown passes in 80 attempts. His main target is junior running back Darius De Los Reyes who has caught four of those touchdown passes.

Highlights from this game and 26 more will be on Friday night at 11 p.m. on the Prep Pigskin Report. Be sure and follow me on Twitter @Rickwillis99 for live scoring updates of this game.
