Week 7: Santana Sultans 56, Mount Miguel Matadors 21

The Sultan’s from Santana (7-0) will continue their winning streak after tonight’s win against Mount Miguel (3-3) 56-21.

The Sultan’s managed to have control of the ball a majority of the first quarter scoring two touchdowns and taking an early lead of 14-0 against the Matador’s.

With only seconds left in the 1st quarter, Mount Miguel’s quarterback, Jacob Laverdiere finds Kojo Miller for a 15 yard touchdown pass.

Starting the 2nd quarter, Nathan Hughes gets a pass from Nathan Temple and takes if 67 yards continuing their lead 21-7.

Late in the first half, Santana fumbled the ball and it was recovered by the Matador’s leading to a quarterback keeper from one yard out by Laverdiere.

On Santana’s next drive, Nathan Temple threw a 25 yard pass to Randy Smith for another Sultan touchdown 28-14.

After the half, Mount Miguel’s Laverdiere went up for a pass that was tipped into the hands of Santana’s Cameron LaRiccia. Temple would run this one in himself for the Sultan’s 5th touchdown of the game.

Santana continued to dominate this game throughout the second half, only giving up one more touchdown to the Matador’s.

Mount Miguel will compete against rival Monte Vista (2-4) and Santana will host their rivals, West Hills (4-2).
