Week 7: The Bishop’s School Knights 73, Orange Glen Patriots 32
The Bishop’s Knights got ahead of the Orange Glen Patriots early on and never looked back, winning 73-32.
The Knights could do no wrong in the first quarter.
Quarterback Tyler Buchner was on fire all night and led his team to a 26-0 lead after the first quarter.
Orange Glen was able to get some rhythm going in the second, in big thanks to running back Cale Patterson. The senior was able to take a handoff 44 yards to get the Patriots on the board.
Patterson was able to keep it going on the following Patriot possession, running the ball with a purpose. That led to his second rushing score of the night.
Unfortunately for Orange Glen, its defense just had no answer for the Knights’ offense. The Knights scored three more touchdowns before the half, to take a 50-24 lead into the third quarter.
The Patriots started the second half on a positive note, with quarterback Ethan Villalobos finding wide receiver DJ Harris, who made a spectacular one-handed grab and took the ball to the house. That cut the Knights’ lead to 50-32.
That would be as close as the Patriots would get.
The Knights’ Tyler Buchner continued to show why he has verbally committed to Notre Dame. He had his hand in three more touchdowns in the second half. Buchner threw for over 400 yards in this one, which ended in the big win for The Bishop’s School Knights.
Bishop’s (6-0) will look to continue its undefeated season next week against La Jolla Country Day. Orange Glen (2-4) will face Classical Academy on Friday for its Homecoming.
