Dons quarterback D.J. Ralph connected with Zion Sorani on an 86-yard catch and run to put them up 7-0 on their first possession.

Running back Shawn Poma set the tone in the third quarter with a 51-yard run. The drive stalled but Dean Janikowski nailed a 43-yard field goal to make it 24-7 Dons. Janikowski added a 42-yard field goal on the next drive to make it 27-7.
Early in the fourth quarter, St. Augustine got back within 13 points when Barry Cole scored on a 22-yard run making it 27-14.
Unfortunately for the Saints, the Dons answered on a Ralph touchdown to pass to Justice from 15 yards out and a 34-14 lead.

Cathedral Catholic improves to 6-1 and St. Augustine falls to 5-2.
Saint Augustine hosts Cathedral Catholic Friday night in the annual Holy Bowl. It’s a rivalry that dates to 1966 and they have clashed every year since except for 2007 due to the wildfires. The Dons lead the series with a record of 33-22. Since 2010, a span of 8 games, the teams have each won 4 apiece. As if all of that wasn’t enough motivation they each come into this game with 5-1 records including 1-0 in the Western League.
Cathedral Catholic is led by senior running back Shawn Poma who has rushed for 805 yards 11 touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Zion Sorani keeps defenses honest. If they dare to creep up too close to the line of scrimmage Sorani can burn them. He averages 22.7 yards per catch and has 6 touchdowns. Senior quarterback D.J. Ralph has yet to throw an interception through 6 games. He has thrown for 522 yards and 10 touchdowns.
The Saints run a pro-style offense with multiple weapons to choose from. Their leading rusher is sophomore Byron Cardwell who has 636 yards and 8 touchdowns and another 105 yards receiving. Junior tight end Michael Ambagtsheer is a great security blanket for quarterback Angelo Peraza. At 6’5” 240 lbs Ambagtsheer is a huge target who makes plays after the catch. He leads the team with 403 yards and 4 touchdowns. His presence keeps linebackers honest on and second and third down.
