Week 8: La Jolla Vikings 35, Morse Tigers 12
A big win on Homecoming night for the La Jolla Viking’s (4-3) as they hosted the Tigers from Morse (4-3) 35-12.
Tonight’s homecoming theme was under the sea, but these Viking’s rose to the top
The Tiger’s started the game off driving down the field where quarterback, Michael Cunningham, with the keep, pushing his way through La Jolla’s defensive line to the end zone and putting up 6 against the Viking’s.
A few fumbles and punts as we made it halfway through the second quarter before Viking’s quarterback Jackson Stratton found Makai Smith in the endzone with a 29-yard touchdown pass.
La Jolla held the Tiger’s to four and out and would get the ball back, turning it into a touchdown pass to Smith again, this time from 10 yards out.
Coming back from all of the Homecoming festivities during the half, Makai Smith would find the end zone again for his 3rd touchdown of the game.
Late in the 3rd quarter, the Tiger’s fumbled the ball and it was recovered by La Jolla’s Danny Molestina, that would lead to another Smith touchdown and the Viking’s extend their lead 28-6.
Morse gets possession again, but another fumble by the Tiger’s and recovered by Max Smith of La Jolla.
Jackson Stratton and Diego Solis, the duo that can’t be stopped, get another touchdown for the Viking’s from 46 yards out.
The Viking’s are currently undefeated in league and will face a non-conference game against Lincoln (4-3) at home, the Tiger’s will play Christian (5-2).
