Week 8: Mater Dei Crusaders 29, Olympian Eagles 6
The Mater Dei Crusaders took the victory 29-6 against the Olympian Eagles in a conference game, improving the Crusader record 4-4, and the Eagles dropped to 1-6.
Crusaders’ Jesse Cambell opened the scoreboard with an impressive 82-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Trevor Appelman. He kicked it into high gear and ran past the to Eagle’s deference to make it into the end zone. The first score of the night, 7-0 Crusaders.
In the second quarter, the home team were up put themselves on the scoreboard, and it would be the only time they would do so. Olympian’s Gregory Hawking ran the ball 35-yards to make the score 10-6, the field goal attempt was blocked by the Crusader defense.
Appelman appeared again in the third quarter, this time he pitched the ball to Aiden Calvert for which resulted in a 9-yard touchdown. Mater Dei took the lead 19-6
Crusader wanted to secure their victory, and did so in the fourth quarter.
Again, Appelman passed the ball 30-yards to Darren Barkins for a 30-yard touchdown pass.
Final score 29-6 Mater Dei.

Mater Dei will play at home in a conference game where they will host Otay Ranch.
