Week 9: Madison Warhawks 37, Point Loma Pointers 10
The Madison Warhawks defeated the Point Loma Pointers, 37-10, on Friday night.
After both teams started out slow, the Warhawks found a groove.
Late in the first, Jaylen Thomas hooked up with Herman Smith on the 49-yard catch-and-run, putting Madison up, 7-3.
Point Loma responded in kind early in the second.
Kaden Gill found the end zone from four yards out to put the Pointers up, 10-7.
From there, it was all Madison with a young man you’ve no doubt heard of leading the way.
Ke’ontae Springs got loose on a 59-yard touchdown run. He broke tackles on his way there to regain the lead, 14-10.
And it was so nice, he did it twice.
This time Springs took the handoff from 22 yards out to give the Warhawks a 21-10 lead heading into halftime.
Madison stayed on the gas in the second half.
The Warhawks used trick plays and misdirection to get the ball into the hands of playmakers in space. Success in the department helped Madison have a 35-10 lead going into the fourth quarter.
To put a cherry on top, the defense decided to put some points on the board for Madison.
It seems like the entire Warhawks’ front seven met in the Point Loma end zone for the safety.
That play produced the final, 37-10 Madison.
