Week 9: West Hills Wolf Pack 14, Escondido Cougars 7

In a non-conference game, the 4-3 West Hills Wolf Pack traveled north on the 15 to face the 5-2 Escondido Cougars.

In the first quarter, West Hills junior Brendan Greene ran 69 yards just short of he goal line, where junior Ryan Nicholas took it across for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead.

In the third quarter, Escondido sophomore Abraham Perez broke free from the crowd, running 80 yards to set up senior Matt Malone for a six-yard touchdown to tie the game, 7-7.

With 1:27 left on the clock, Escondido junior quarterback Robert Ramos made a throw that West Hills senior Kole Klingerman came up with the interception and 43-yard, game-winning touchdown.

The Wolf Pack won this one, 14 -7, to improve to 5-3. Escondido is also 5-3 for the season.
