What to expect from Mayor Todd Gloria’s State of the City address
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Wednesday night, San Diego’s Democrat Mayor Todd Gloria will give his 2023 State of the City Address.
The address comes after San Diego voters were “duped” into approving a new trash tax, ongoing push for an extremely unpopular mileage tax, highest gas & electricity rates in the country set to double from this time last year, and the homeless population in Downtown San Diego alone just hit a record high for the fifth straight month.
The homeless situation is so bad, that icon Bill Walton called on Mayor Todd Gloria to resign for destroying “what once was America’s Finest City.”
Nevertheless, Carl DeMaio appeared on KUSI’s Good Morning San Diego to warn viewers to expect gas lighting and depictions of a “fantasyland” by Gloria during his speech.
DeMaio explained Gloria’s address will be an “hour long gaslighting session.” Continuing, “Todd Gloria isn’t suited to this job, he is in way over his head. He got the job because he has personal pronouns on his Facebook profile, let’s be clear about it. It’s all woke-ism.”
On the other hand, Mayor Gloria’s office says he will “focus on the city’s most pressing challenges, provide an update on the progress made during the past year and lay out a path for 2023 and beyond.”
This will be the first State of the City address delivered in person since 2020, and it is free to attend for the public.
The speech begins at 6:30 PM at the San Diego Civic Theater, and you can watch it on City TV.
KUSI’s Matt Prichard went live at the theatre where the community piled in to hear the mayor speak.
