Who is 53rd Congressional District candidate Chris Stoddard

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – There are 16 candidates running for the top-two primary election for California’s 53rd Congressional District and one of them is Chris Stoddard.

Stoddard on Good Morning San Diego said his top issues are securing the border, federally legalizing marijuana, removing strict California regulations on weapons, allowing for a nationwide concealed carry permit and removing suppressors from the class 3 list.

A San Diego Union-Tribune/10News poll released February 4th showed Stoddard at 10% support, behind Sara Jacobs with 23% and Famela Ramos and Georgette Gomez are behind at 5%, with a 5.7% margin of error.

Incumbent Rep. Susan Davis announced she would not seek election in 2020, leaving the race open for one of the top two vote-getters in the March primary who will advance to the November. 3rd, general election.
