Why Bernie Sanders won’t quit
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — Hillary Clinton made history on Tuesday. Right now, her sole focus should be on Donald Trump, but Democratic party unity remains a huge issue thanks to Bernie Sanders’ refusal to fold his campaign.
Despite the arithmetic, Sanders has vowed to carry on through next Tuesday’s primary election in Washington D.C. and then on to Philadelphia at the Democratic Convention.
On Thursday, Bernie Sanders will meet with President Obama. Obama didn’t ask for the meeting, Sanders did.
It would be one thing if Sanders had won Tuesday in California, where he spent so much time and effort, but he didn’t.
For months, he has given Hillary Clinton more than she ever expected. He has energized America’s young people who otherwise would have had no interest in the 2016 presidential campaign.
