With Duncan D. Hunter’s resignation, San Diego will temporarily have an all Democratic Congressional delegation

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A few days ago Congressman Scott Peters tweeted a cool photo of himself with Juan Vargas, Susan Davis, and Mike Levin at Washington Dulles International Airport.

When Congressman Duncan D. Hunter resigns on January 13, 2020, San Diego will technically have an all Democratic Congressional Delegation for the first time since 1953. Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez quoted Peter’s tweet asking, “Has San Diego  ever had an ALL Democratic Congressional delegation? We will next week!”

And the answer is yes.

Back in 1953, San Diego’s population was so small that the entire county was represented by a single Congressional Representative, Democrat Clinton D. McKinnon.

Clinton McKinnon is the father of KUSI’s owner Michael McKinnon.
