Woman behind bars after stabbing and robbing acquaintance

SANTEE (CNS) – A 29-year-old woman was behind bars Friday on suspicion of stabbing an acquaintance while trying to rob him at his East County home.

Lymarie Rodriguez of Chula Vista allegedly attacked the man in the 1600 block of Buckeye Drive in El Cajon about 2 a.m. Thursday, according to police.

Patrol officers responding to a report of a disturbance at the house found the victim, whose name was not released, suffering from severe wounds, Lt. Frank La Haye said. Medics took him to a trauma center, where he was listed in serious but stable condition.

Rodriguez was treated at a hospital for treatment of non-life- threatening injuries suffered in the alleged assault. Upon her release from medical care, she was booked into Las Colinas women's jail in Santee on suspicion of attempted murder.

Witnesses told investigators the violence had erupted after Rodriguez attempted to rob the victim, the lieutenant said.

The suspect was being held without bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Monday afternoon.
