Woman suffers serious head injuries when struck by a hit-and-run motorist

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A 21-year-old woman suffered serious head injuries when she was struck by a hit-and-run motorist Sunday in the Pacific Beach community of San Diego, a police officer said.

The woman was in the crosswalk in the 4400 block of Mission Boulevard, going eastbound when she was hit by either a silver or white sedan a little before 1:45 a.m., said Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.

The sedan fled the scene, going southbound, and paramedics transported the woman to an area hospital with serious head injuries, Heims said. The injuries were considered non-life threatening.
