Woman Suffers Severe Injuries in Two-Car Crash on SR-67 in Ramona

RAMONA (KUSI) – A woman suffered severe injuries Friday morning and had to be rescued from a vehicle following a two-car crash on state Route 67 in Ramona, authorities said.

The crash, involving a white work truck and a silver compact car, was reported shortly before 8:40 a.m. on state Route 67 near Peace Valley Lane, California Highway Patrol Officer Jim Bettencourt said.

Firefighters responded to the scene and freed a woman who was trapped in one of the vehicles, Cal Fire San Diego Capt. Issac Sanchez said.

The victim, whose age was not immediately available, was taken to a hospital for treatment of “critical injuries,” Sanchez said.

No other injuries were immediately reported.

Both directions of SR-67 were blocked following the crash and the lanes remained closed as of 10:00 a.m.

The circumstances leading up to the crash were under investigation.
