Workshop scheduled to discuss future of One Paseo

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A public workshop was scheduled Wednesday night to discuss the future of the Carmel Valley-based One Paseo project.

The project, a mixed-use development which originally planned to put offices, shops, restaurants and more than 600 housing units onto an empty 23.6-acre lot south of Del Mar Heights Road, was initially given a go-ahead by the City Council earlier. However, opponents were able to gather enough signatures to force the approval to be rescinded.

More than 60,000 signatures were gathered against One Paseo, which opponents believe would cause an already busy area to become even more congested.

The workshop is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the San Diego Marriott Del Mar, and is being hosted by the Carmel Valley Community Planning Board.
