Wounded Warrior Homes is shines a light on some of San Diego’s heroes

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – May is Military Appreciation Month so the Wounded Warrior Homes is shining a light on some of San Diego’s heroes, and how the community can help support veterans.

According to Wounded Warriors, Geno is an Army Veteran and one of the vets served by Wounded Warrior Homes. He served as a Medic during his enlistment and was deployed to Iraq & Afghanistan. While serving in Afghanistan, Geno received a Bronze Star for helping to save the lives of more than 20 severely wounded soldiers. Geno is now working on getting his BS in Nursing.

Also Mia Roseberry started local grassroots nonprofit Wounded Warrior Homes after hearing from veterans organizations that the biggest need in the community was help with the transition from military to civilian life, especially for veterans who have the invisible injuries. She started Wounded Warrior Homes (WWH) to provide transitional housing and reintegrative support services to veterans.
